Vile Victorians
As part of history enrichment, Class 4 had a Victorian themed day. They all came to school dressed in Victorian clothes and went back in time to the Victorian era. To start the day, the class discussed the rules and expectations in a Victorian classroom. They then completed some arithmetic on their slates (black paper) using chalk and practised traditional copperplate handwriting. Throughout the day, they had drill exercises on the playground, baked and decorated traditional gingerbread biscuits and practised their needlework. Although it was a lot different to a usual school day, lots of fun was had by all!
